The INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE FOR DIPLOMACY – PEACE AND SECURITY (ITC DPS) provides innovative learning solutions to individuals, organizations and institutions to enhance global decision-making and support country-level action for shaping a better future. ITC DPS, created in 2023 to train and equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate through the worldwide diplomatic environment by designing and delivering a variety of training activities, is therefore a leading institute in the provision of customized and creative learning solutions to institutions and individuals from both public and private sectors.
ABOUT US
With a strategy fully focused on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ITC DPS supports Governments to implement the 2030 Agenda. ITC DPS provides training and capacity development activities to assist individuals, groups and communities including those in conflict situations.
ITC DPS is headed by an Executive Director and his staff. The Institute is a project-based organization that is financed entirely from voluntary contributions derived from international and intergovernmental organizations, foundations NGOs and the private sector.
We work in the spirit of leaving no one behind and we strive to reach the furthest first. To achieve this, our training plan depends also on donor support. We appeal to donor other entities to help us so we can design and deliver high-quality training especially to those in special situations.
MISSION AND VISION
The vision for which the ITC DPS aims, reflects a drive for results and programming to develop the capacities of individuals, institutions and organizations with a view to overcoming global challenges by:
- Providing high-quality learning solutions to address the capacity development needs of individuals, organizations and institutions;
- Advising and supporting communities, youth groups and other partners with knowledge services, including those that are technology-based;
- Facilitating knowledge and experience sharing through networked and innovative processes; and
- Integrating innovative strategies, approaches and methodologies into our learning and related knowledge products and services.
- Diversifying the delivery of training, with e-Learning courses and events, to reach learners from all corners of the world benefitting from the Institute’s virtual learning environment.
In carrying out its mission, the ITC DPS naturally places much emphasis on delivering learning-related products and services, on transferring knowledge, imparting skills and raising awareness with an aim to bring about changes in behaviour, and to develop other capacities of its beneficiaries.
Parallel to learning, the ITC DPS also engages in training-related and other advisory support services to achieve broader social and economic development outcomes.
